2025 Volunteer Opportunities

It takes hundreds of volunteers to set up, build, create, carve and run Vulcan Snow Park. There are many excellent opportunities for individuals, families, and groups to help at Vulcan Snow Park while having a great time. Ideally, ages for volunteers range from 13 years old to adults.

We have two primary volunteer opportunities this year:
  • Snow block building (check out our slideshow and video)
  • Snow sculpture voting assistance

All Vulcan Snow Park volunteer opportunities involve being outside for long periods of time, and most involve physical activity. All volunteers are strongly encouraged to dress appropriately for cold temperatures and very slippery conditions. All volunteers must check in before the start of their shift.

Snow Block Building

Saturday, January 18
9 am to 5 pm

Sunday, January 19
10am - 5pm

Help build all of the elements of Vulcan Snow Park! Activities include, but are not limited to: stomping snow to make the snow blocks, clearing snow, and staying warm. Some volunteers may be on ladders. All volunteers will be physically active and around heavy equipment. Ideal for groups, families, and individuals.

Contact Vulcan Snow Park to sign up.

Snow Sculpture Voting Assistance

Sunday, January 26

10 am to 12:30 pm

Help Snow Park visitors vote for their favorite Minnesota State Snow Sculpting Competition sculpture! Manage the ballot table, encourage visitors to vote (bring your outside voice!), help voters identify their favorite sculpture, and carry boxes of completed ballots to the tally team. Volunteers interact with hundreds of happy families during this shift. Ideal for small groups and individuals.

Contact Snow Sculpting to sign up.
