Small-Block Snow Sculpting Contest

Saturday, January 25, 2020

Enter Your Team!
Come watch Minnesotan artists brave the elements to create amazing works of art. Better yet, sign up to participate!

Each team (with up to three members) starts with a ready-made block of snow (4' x 4' x 6') and has just eight hours to carve out a sculpture using only hand tools. The team awarded 1st Place receives the opportunity to enter the following year’s Minnesota State Snow Sculpting Competition for free.

Join the fun by entering a team! There are no experience requirements, and new teams are always welcome. All you need are a pal or two, a team captain who lives in Minnesota, some snow sculpting hand tools, and your spirit of fun, adventure, and creativity!

Visitors

Come watch the sculptures take shape. Join us around 4:30 pm to cheer for the winners!

Finished sculptures are individually lit after dark and can be viewed (day or night) for the duration of Vulcan Snow Park. Come early in the first week! The sculptures will collapse in warm weather and are knocked down early if they become dangerously unstable.

The Small-Block Snow Sculpting Contest (formerly known as the Amateur Snow Sculpting Contest) has been held annually since 2017.
